For those who live in California, you might recognize this PBS affiliate channel called KCET. I have watched Sesame Street in the past but, I also grew up with PBS Kids and KCET. Before the funding of Sesame Street, there was a sponsor called W.M Keck Foundation. The 1990s version of the sponsor can be found in Youtube, but not the early 2000s version.
I remember watching W.M Keck Foundation sponsor before Sesame Street was on and it was traumatizing for me to see. The early 2000s version seems to be a lot more eerie with the music and the tone of the background than the 90s version. This ad is between 45 seconds to 1 minute. Here's what I can remember from this sponsor:
It starts off with an eerie music that sounded like bells. A child tells them that there are Sesame Street characters, then the children arrive at each of the doors. They peek through each keyhole that seems to be a science-related world. First, you see rockets through space. Then, they peek through another keyhole that seems to be more of an animal. What I can only remember was a space rocket and an animal from each keyhole. At the end, there is a religious-themed that represents possibly a person with a cross as it pans out of the keyhole. At the end, it is an all white and static background with a text of W.M Keck Foundation, while an announcer announces the sponsor.
This sponsor still lingers through my childhood memory and I still can recall this to this day.
