Hey! I’m a huge fan of Doja Cat, her music is really great and got me through my freshman year of college (which I’ll just say was a TOUGH time). Being a huge fan, I try to stay up to date on her songs, released and unreleased, and it was through a YouTube channel that posts her released and unreleased music where I discovered that there is a lost music video from her first EP, titled Purrr! The music video is for her song No Police, which is one of the more popular songs from that EP and from her earlier works in general. There is a YouTube video that has a snippet of the video
and the OP used to have a description for the video up where it mentioned that the clip is from the now deleted music video for No Police, which they believe was released unofficially. Now, Doja Cat releases songs on her SoundCloud, and these songs are typically referred to as “unreleased” as they were not released by her label and are not available to stream or purchase. I assume the music video was released a similar way, being labelled as being “released unofficially” as it wasn’t approved by her label. However, it could’ve been leaked, as this has happened to her with her Like That music video, as well as with some of her demos, alternate versions of released songs, and snippets of songs that were, at the time, unreleased (e.g. the Say So Remix). Two other possibilities are that
a) the music video was never released at all, and this clip was released to promote the video, but the video ended up just never being released
Or
b) the music video is just fan-made and was lost as being that this was not released by her or her label, if it was deleted by its creator, it’d be up to her fanbase to have saved the video, something unlikely as her fanbase was small at the time of the EP’s release
I really hope someone downloaded it if it was released as in that case, with enough attention someone who downloaded it could see it and post it. Regardless, I want to find this lost music video, and thought you guys could help, and/or give tips on how to find it. I’ve always paid attention to the searches through videos on YouTube rather than participated in it, so I’m not exactly sure where to start. Let me know, and if anyone wants to help that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you to the users who took the time to read this!
