I remember seeing this in my early teens. I don't remember ever seeing it on Nick jr, though being 12 in 2008 I didnt watch it much, defintely remember seeing it on Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite. It was somewhere between 2008 to 2009 that it was being aired I wouldn't think it would be later then that as that's around the time they started airing the show.
I saw this several times when it was on TV, I'm fairly sure it's from Fall 2007, that's when George Lopez started airing on Nick at Nite, and I'm pretty sure the ad was from when that had just started. Dora was trying to help George find Nick at Nite, that's one reason I'm pretty sure the ad was from the Nick at Nite premiere time period. The last line was George saying "And they say I have a big head."

I looked through a couple Nick at Nite commercial compilations from Fall 2007 but most of them have the same couple sets of George Lopez promos, which makes me think we might be missing something obvious.
Found a tape I knew I had in my collections of a home improvement marathon "the tooly awards" seems like it's from around February 2008 and so far no luck. But in my research I did find this article talking about home improvement and George Lopez coming to nick at night. blog.sitcomsonline.com/2007/08/nick-at-nite-details-home-improvement.html dated aug 2007. I don't know if knowing this is any help, but thought I would pass along.

I'm not as sure of this as I am about the other details, but I want to say it mainly aired on Nick Jr. I think it was also before the series premiered, I vaguely remember it actually being how I first heard that the show was coming to Nick at Nite. But neither of these have as much certainty as what I said in my first post.

I don't know. I personally remember seeing it like a year or two after the show was added to the lineup, but it really could've aired at any point. It is a relatively big window of time for something like this.

This is something else I'm interested in being able to prove, the claims that it aired on Nick Jr. Though when you think about it, airing it here would kinda make sense. It would be promoting George Lopez to the parents who might not know the show is coming to Nick at Nite, while they watch Nick Jr. with their kids. More sense than advertising George Lopez to an already adult audience on the block, that might not even know what Dora is.
I guess it's possible everyone is just associating the show with Nick at Nite so that's why they claim it aired there, and maybe that's why nobody has come across it yet.

Try searching the promo up on Vimeo, because clips of Thomas & Friends Institute of Innovation and the 1996 Shrek test was on Vimeo. Search up “Dora Ad”, “George Lopez Dora” “George Lopez promo” and many more. If all else fails, the search will probably have a dead end.
