Hello! I've been following the LMW for several months now, and I'm absolutely fascinated by the effort that goes into this site! I've always had a strange fascination for lost media myself, so this site has been an absolute delight to read through. Which brings me to the matter of this thread:
Pendulum are an Australian drum 'n' bass group formed in 2003. The height of their popularity was the 2000's, but in recent years due to their hiatus they seem to have fallen into semi-obscurity. Since their return performance at UMF last year, and two new shows announced for this summer, interest in the group seems to be slowly sparking back, hence why I'm thinking it would be interesting to come to these forums for a request.
Outside of their three albums, there's a LOT of unreleased tracks and demo material. Most of these are only available in chopped segments, or really low quality since they are only from set rips. A youtube user called notrobswire/Greg's stuff has been building a database using every bit of information scattered across old forums and interviews, and has even remastered some low-quality rips from scratch. But the matter remains is that a small fragment of material is seemingly out there and unheard, either completely lost to time or somewhere in the band members' personal archives. I've been paying attention to the matter for quite some time now along with a few other friends, though we haven't really had the time to invest in long searches around the web for these lost pieces of music or higher quality versions of early demos.
A comprehensive list of unreleased and lost tracks can be found on the Pendulum Database, courtesy of notrobswire. For a brief look, the lost tracks themselves are:
Information on some of these do exist, but still remains scarce.
Most of the leads have already been exhausted, most notably early interviews and the DogsOnAcid forums that the band members used to frequent back in the early days. There is still the open possibility of contacting them directly since they are all quite active on their twitter accounts, either for some information on these lost tracks or perhaps even the tracks themselves.
On a related note, there is also the matter of Xygen, the predecessor to Pendulum or so to speak of. Of that band only a full song and half of a track survive, even though much more content is out there. Even Rob himself stated that he has a CD case that held the band's tracks, but seemingly has misplaced or lost the CD itself.
I know this is most likely a huge shot in the dark, especially since there are much bigger searches out there. But even an article on the wiki would help! And it would bring my friends and I a huge amount of joy to see any of these tracks recovered, or even have some more information on them, and what they were.
