Now this one is in the "Lesser known media" part because it ain't really that well known about. Not many people seem to ever talk about this show at all. I've seen people talk more about Outback Joey than this, & yet, this is even crazier. You see, there is a lost early 1990s TV show called GameProTV, which was based on the GamePro magazine & it was about video games of the 8 & 16-bit eras; reviewing them, talking about cheats, even had gags in them. It was not really that popular it seems as not many episodes of it are available on the internet, but I guess the subscriptions to the magazine kept it running for at least 4 months or so before fading out of the airwaves...
After that show ended, it got rebooted sometime in 1996 into the 32 bit era & was aired on the Sports Channel this time! It was more or less the same show, but it was certainly kind of weird seeing it back. And different set & studio too. The first one was filmed in Venice while this one was filmed in Los Angeles. So different format, but the same name. And that was it, right?
WRONG!!!
Because as it turns out, that was the SECOND REBOOT. There was an even earlier one called GamePro Power Up which primairly focused on the 16-bit era & again, it was produced somewhere else, this time at Universe Studios Florida! It's insane really. If you want more details on this absolute insanity of rabbit hole, there's this live stream that Cabbusses did that I joined in just for the heck of it. It was quite the deep dive lemme tell you!
