Children’s book that scared me! (1980’s, maybe?)

There is times when children’s books are great to read, but sometimes there is some that have scared kids.
Out of all the children’s book that I have read, there is one in kindergarten that I was terrified!
In this book, it featured a huge family that are traveling in exotic places, they first went to maybe a jungle where they meet A bunch of animals.
Then they went to the beach, this one I remember a lot, there was some little girls making sandcastles, and there was a dog laughing at a bunch of guys making a human ladder in the ocean with a little boy on top with a teddy bear.
Then they went on boats and they fall into the water. Then suddenly, there was a volcano erupting and they huge family went running for their lives until they finally found a car and they drive through road until they found their house and they finally are safe from the volcano!
Unfortunately, That is all I remember, I tried googling book about a family and a Volcano but I came out empty handed. I didn’t even thought about this until later when I was cleaning the house. If you know about this book please tell me.
