In either the mid- or late 2000s, there was an interstitial short 2D cartoon that I saw a few times that featured only one character, which was a male rat. The rat wore no clothes and had a circular body and a narrow pointed snout, and did not speak with actual words; instead making various yelling sounds and other random noises. I have a feeling that I saw this cartoon a relatively large number of times, but I can only remember the plot of one episode in any detail. It was about the rat coming across a series of increasingly spicy hot peppers, and there was apparently an award in store if the rat was able to eat all of them. I remember that there was a scene where the rat ate one of the first peppers and then had to run off to drink a lot of water out of pots and pans. I am not sure where this cartoon would have been made, but somehow I suspect that the UK is more likely than the US.
It definitely wasn't Ratz and it looked nothing like that cartoon (and I am especially certain of this because I did watch some of Ratz when I was a kid).
If this cartoon sounds familiar to anyone here, then help would be appreciated.
Do you remember which channel it was on? That would help narrow it down.
In this case I don't think that the channel identity is likely to help but it was probably TVNZ 2. There's a tiny chance that it was New Zealand's Channel Three.
