This was a follow-up to In The Days of Daniel Boone, another 1923 serial that is also lost. It was about Buffalo Bill Cody and depicted his adventures in the wild west. Cody himself is well known for having made the round trip of the Pony Express all the way - 400 miles - after arriving at the halfway point and discovering his relief rider dead, killed by Native Americans. He set a record for doing the Pony Express route at that time. That feat marked the start of Buffalo Bill's road to world fame, culminated by his wild West shows. The serial, however, was a complete work of fiction put out by Universal studios and involved his battles against "road agents" - that is, bandits. Cody had passed away only five years before this silent serial was filmed.
I forgot to mention that, like all silent serials, this one had a McGuffin, an item or document by which one could acquire the desired item, whether it be a treasure or the ownership of a ranch. This serial's McGuffin was probably a deed which gave the people Buffalo Bill was helping ownership of their land.
