An area of media not often covered is the games contained in the software of In Flight Entertainment Systems (IFES). I know these games are often low quality and not very fun but the fact you basically need to book a flight on an IFES equipped aircraft to access the system and play the games means that they have a very high chance of becoming lost when an aircraft is retired or the IFES software is updated. I'm no frequent flyer but from the 5 or 6 flights I've been on that had an IFES, they were the only times I could play the games. Any other thoughts on this topic or how said games can be located and preserved?
Preservation saves not only the media, but also the time and effort put into making the media.
