When I was young I was really into a game called Reason 2 Die. It was a zombie shooter on the ROBLOX platform where a random cast of players are chosen as the zombies or humans in a Left 4 Dead Versus like mode.
There were various versions of it which I remember and are going to list down below as well as their status.
Please do note that I am not talking about the sequel, Reason 2 Die Awakening, as it is extremely well documented and still up today.
REASON 2 DIE 2009
Found and archived well. This was the original 2009 build of the game and builds of it are still easily found and downloaded. There's not much to say here, you can find footage of it here.
REASON 2 DIE 2012
This is where it goes into lost media status. Reason 2 Die 2012 is almost completely lost. There exists almost no footage of it outside of a few very blurry screenshots. You cannot find downloads of it anywhere from what i've checked.
There is not a wiki for it, unlike the current version of the game and R2D 2014.
Reason 2 Die 2012 was a sort of hybrid between the original's gameplay and what R2D 2014 would become. There is a lack of grinding but you can use the money to buy equipment such as pipebombs and grenades.
It had a very primitive menu, similar to how general games of that era looked. There was a crouch mechanic and the van from Reason 2 Die 2014 was in this version, but I don't remember how it was spawned.
Humans would spawn at the start of a match and would choose their weapons by (this is from my pure memory, do not take this as fact) saying the name of specific characters from the Left 4 Dead franchise and then getting their weapon.
Random zombies were also chosen and were randomly picked from the normal zombie to the smoker, tank, and a few others that have slipped my mind from how long it's been.
Upon death as a survivor, you would join the infected and spawn as a random zombie and attempt to eliminate the survivors until all of them are turned into a zombie or the survivors live long enough to get on a rescue helicopter.
Maps from R2D 2014 originated here such as Campfire Chaos and I think Outskirts. I can't really remember the rest outside of it.These are the only photos I have of it, from Jopede's GOOD OLD DAYS - R2D video.
REASON 2 DIE 2012 HAS BEEN FOUND!
REASON 2 DIE 2014
This is the one i'm REALLY hoping to get. This one is the one that I spent the most of my childhood on and it's insane it's lost in the first place considering that it topped the charts on the site.
No build of it currently is out there and playable. There was a remaster that was nearly identical to the original with approval from PlaceRebuilder, but it was shut down after the lead dev added to much custom content.
The remaster will probably never release as the creator, BelowNatural is too busy doing other things.
The original version which is what I am looking for is in a huge amount of danger. There exists a limited amount of screenshots of it and videos, and most are very low quality.
The game will probably never be released officially as PlaceRebuilder wants nothing to do with the franchise anymore and is embarrassed of R2D 2014.
However, during this era of ROBLOX, there was a lot of place stealing exploits, so it's likely there's a copy of it SOMEWHERE. I don't know exactly who could have it.
The wikia can be found here, with a large amount of information on how the game worked, screenshots, etc. r2d.fandom.com/wiki/Home_Page
REASON 2 DIE 2014 was the 3rd and final build of Reason 2 Die. Throwing out the primarily Left 4 Dead theme (it still used it but it wasn't fully left 4 dead this time lol), it focused more on grinding and unlocks (every weapon was an unlockable you could spend money and grind for).
Humans would spawn at the start of a match and would spawn in with the guns they chose.
Random zombies were also chosen and were randomly picked, but you could also buy them this time. The zombies were the Normal Zombie, a standard zombie with no abilities, the Crawler, a zombie who walked
like a dog and was primarily used for flanking, the Boomer, a very slow zombie who blinds a survivor when shot close to them and also has the ability to throw up, doing close range damage and blinding an enemy,
the Smoker who would pull infected with his tongue to them, rendering them incapable to fight back unless they had the Katana or Rambo Knife,
the Hunter who would jump on survivors and claw them rendering them incapable to move or fight back, the Tank, a huge beast who could throw rock and do fatal damage, all with 1000 HP,
the Cavebat, a bat who could trip survivors and make them fall off the map and spit at them,
the Duck, which was a reward for donating to the game with a gamepass (the Supporter gamepass), which would be a small and hard to see duck. When killed, it explodes, doing fatal damage.
the Stalker, a large, entirely gray man who when spawned plays the War of the Worlds tripod sound and has the ability to turn invisible, turn visible and then grab humans to throw them off the map or lead them into danger,
and the Elemental, who could turn people on fire or turn into ice and stun them for a decent period of time.
There was also an easter egg zombie named Frank Sinatra who would sing "Fly Me To The Moon" by... Frank Sinatra. Otherwise, he acted as a normal zombie.
There were also hybrid zombies, which were caused by glitches and looked like mixes of separate zombies and acted the same.
There was also the "LIVE store", an ingame store that would let you buy things such
as the Van and pills (healing item that would slowly wear off and make you lose the health after) as a survivor or the C4 as a zombie which would allow you to run into and kamikaze a
team as a Crawler, dealing decent amounts of damage. You could also use the Relocate feature as a zombie which would teleport you.
The gamemodes were Survival, where you would survive for a large amount of time until winning,
Objective, a campaign like gamemode where the survivors are tasked with doing a bunch of tasks until calling a rescue or escaping,
Elimination, a gamemode where survivors have to kill a select amount of zombies to win,
Capture The Flag, a mode where both the survivors and zombies are tasked with taking a flag to their base to win,
Infection, a gamemode where survivors cannot take damage of ANY kind or else they will slowly lose to a virus and then die, turning into a zombie. The only way to stop it would be to heal yourself with an item.
Protect The King, a gamemode where survivors must protect a VIP until the round ends or else the game ends,
Snowball Fight, an FFA gamemode where survivors must throw lethal snowballs at each other to be the last one standing,
I'm really hoping to find these 2 games as they mean a lot to me so any support would help. I've wanted to replay it ever since it was shut down in 2017.

You can find screenshots decently easily but it's also very rare to find high quality images of the game. You can also find footage of the game from old R2D youtubers, but it also suffers from being very rare in good quality or really being that good at all since most of them are reviews or lets plays.
