The Bubbling Under chart of Billboard‘s June 16, 1979 issue of included a song called “Ready ‘N Steady” by a band called D.A.. And the funny thing about it is… no one has ever seen or heard a copy of the record! i heard a guy has located every song on billboard charts except this one
I'm pretty sure I was at a concert where the Christian band Daniel Amos (who changed their name to DA about this time) did a song called "Ready N Steady".
But a quick glance doesn't show it as a track on any of their albums.
As soon as I heard the title and the band I instantly remembered this concert.
It's possible, but most likely he's lying given the weirdly over-exaggerated nature of the comment, and lack of any attempt to help the search further. Still though, further down in the thread contained this gem:
Skeerrera: I have that album on vinyl. Had no idea it was so rare
discing_around: Pics?
Skeerrera: I would but I'm lying though.
In any case, would love to see this actually get found one day.
Ugh.. this was one of my most anticipated pieces of lost media.. and its just terrible even for a 1979 song, with the background singers.
What genre of music did you guys think this would be? I kind of expected it to be prog rock like the Alan Parsons Project.
Reminds me of Bob Seger's "Sunspot Baby" mixed with David Lee Roth on vocals and the Asbury Jukes as the backing. I was among those expecting Brit Punk.
