So, I was talking with my dad about Hokuto no Ken/ Fist of the North Star, and it's lost uncensored version. I mentioned the fact that many releases of the film had all the gore blurred. Then, he said his old straight Japanese recording was not censored. So, we went out to the garage to search for the tape. We looked and looked for about an hour, but no signs just yet. Sadly, he might not even have it anymore. But, at least we know that somewhere he has a recording of the Harmony Gold Dragon Ball movies! Anyways, I'll update y'all on the search. Happy Searching, Peeps!
Are those bootlegs? If they aren't, you are most likely mistaken. The only official home video release that is "uncensored" is the Italian VHS and even then it still has lots of censored content. Only some of it was restored in that release. I would check out the article on the wiki for the run down of which scenes are censored in the US releases (which yours appear to be) and see if they line up.

The official JP release is censored the same amount as the official US release. You father may be misremembering. Unless your dad has a bootleg recording of the theatrical film print (which is possible). I suppose it's also possible that the uncensored version aired on TV at some point and he has a recording of that? Anyways, best of luck searching for it. I've been interested in this topic for a long time now. It's a bit of a holy grail for me honestly.
I'm just a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe.

The DVD might be; I bought it at a convention I think. But I know the VHS is authentic.

either your dad was high on drugs or you did a convincing mandela effect post
I guess the best course of action would be to contact the original seller (if even possible) and ask them if the print is the same as the home video release. Or I guess we could contact the buyers if possible. I don't think either one is an option, but worth a shot I suppose.
Edit: It looks like you have to log in to see seller/buyer info. Since you need a JP phone number to make a YAJ account I can't see who bought or sold the item.

Not sure I'm willing to drop $13 on something that isn't likely to be a good lead. Not saying the lead is a complete shot in the dark, but it feels like too much of a long shot to spend money on.
