When I was in high school, maybe around 2005-2007-ish I remember checking out this one graphic novel from my library which was a bit strange.
I remember the main character being a white boy. His parents (maybe missionaries) brought him to Tibet as a baby. His parents were murdered and he was raised by some monks. The other boys at the temple made fun of him for being different because he had blonde or white hair. I remember there was a part where he cuts the roof of his mouth and starts tripping out. The art style was semi-realistic, like what you would see in a Marvel or DC comic. And I think it was in color.
I am 100% sure it was not Tintin.
