How do I find out who was involved in the creation of unreleased media? And how do I contact them if they don't have an email account or are unknown?
LinkedIn is a good resource. Any social media account they may have is also a good place to look. If they have a post office box, try writing to there as well.

Just because someone worked before LinkedIn existed doesn't mean they won't list that experience on their LinkedIn acc.

I want to say try emailing them but then again, you'll probably have a 50/50 on getting an actual email or just getting an automated one. It depends on who you email, because sometimes people that used to work with [insert person who your trying to contact for the lost media] may or may not have changed their email.
