I don't know about all of you but I feel as though we should have a separate forum for trading rare programs that are not commercially available whether it be digitally or through DVD-r trading. I have been doing it for years via the sitcoms online forum and that's how I've come across a lot of supposedly lost programs- unfortunately that site has kind of slowed down with its trading forum and its mainly people looking for old gameshows and available sitcoms; but I feel as though people would be more inclined to come here that are actually looking for rare or lost material. Obviously you do this at your own risk because there are people out there that are willing to rip you off- But certain things such as buying and selling should be prohibited. Just straight trading. For example I found quite a few lost episodes of programs just by trading for full television blocks and broadcasts that other people have that don't even really realize what they're sitting on. Just a thought.
Eh, I'd rather go to some flea market or abandoned house.
Please don't steal media, or anything else, from abandoned places. It's morally wrong and makes urban explorers look bad.
Of course someone was going to say that. I thought of that for like YEARS thinking somebody would do that, but wasn't exactly sure on the circumstances. Thanks for letting me know that.
Then again, it's not like there's gonna be anything there in the 1st place. Probably just the house & that's it.
I mean, heck, even with flea markets it's kind of a sketchy thing due to certain stupid NES collectors deciding to make the video game collecting thing look bad by buying all the "VeRy RaRe" games from over there. Most of them are not rare, just stupidly expensive. Few rare games out there would be sold for more than $80 & the ones that have been documented are the exceptions rather than the rule. Not to mention the common idea of some of them having tapes that say to have something on it, but then realize that it doesn't have it, either a way of tricking people or it was just taped over.
Oh & I say trading is probably going to be the worst experience for me since there's like a 99% chance that such a stupid mf who sends me something to trade off would not be the lost media I'm looking for, but instead just be some crappy hentai that's been floating around for years.

Kind to think of it, wouldn't this make actual traders look bad too considering the 80-99% chance they'll either rip you off or tell you to not upload it on the internet for scarcity sake?

So from what I know of, abandoned places is a sketchy situation & trading things are like a gamble not worth going in with how many times you can get ripped off & even if you do find the lost media you're looking for, you won't have much time to preserve it before you're supposed to give it back, so... yeah, flea markets & thrift stores are you best bet for finding more lost media. I just don't trust these trading sites, they sound shady as heck.

Not really. I traded on sitcoms online for 15+ years and never had an issue once. You just need to be careful. Only trade with well known frequent posters, build up a good reputation, new members that want to trade have them send first, etc, etc.
