Just curious if anyone has the uncut workprint version of this movie or knows where I can see it? I've heard that bootleg tapes of it did come out and that the uncut version did actually air on Showtime in 1993. So if anyone can assist me here please do let me know.

There's no way a workprint would've been aired on any pay or regular cable channel. Nine times out of ten workprints will always retain time code. So that fact right there means it will not be broadcast on television. Possibly an extended version existed and could've been broadcast, But this just seems to be like a rumor that's been floating around for over a decade. Possibly if you found somebody that worked on the film they could have a copy- but it would usually have to be like the Director himself or a producer- not like a grip or the sound guy. Plus were talking about a film thats pushing over 40 years old. I wouldn't count on finding it sadly.

It's possible, I've read that it's been aired on Showtime and it's been on the movie channel, even possibly HBO. I do know that some of the deleted scenes exist and can even be found on YouTube, maybe a tech savvy person can take the scenes and add them back into the existing film that's available.
There apparently are TV listings that mention an extended version airing on Showtime.
Do you have scans of TV guides or newspapers from that era to back this up?
Someone else on another forum actually gave me this info, unfortunately the websites that have this info like TV Guide and Newspapers.com are both behind pay walls.

I have a newspapers.com acc. Where should I be looking for this?

I'm reviving this thread because I just watched the movie and deleted scenes and I'm baffled there isn't an official directors cut on DVD. I saw in a reddit thread someone mentioned they saw an extended cut on the Movie Channel.
