What was that was it a post or fucking dr. Suess quote
It's an old song from the 40s. It was famously sung by Leland Palmer in Twin Peaks. But I don't expect you to know what any of that means because your only experience in horror is shitty internet creepypastas that get worse and worse and more abstract and corny with every generation. You wanna write horror so bad, look at what the greats did. Horror writing, especially psychological horror, isn't just about saying something scary divorced from context. Lynch knows that more than anything. I think you'd find a lot to admire in his work.
"more abstract" isn't the right phrase to use when talking about those creepypastas. I'd say a better phrase would be "lazier". "more abstract" is something like Kidd Video or Lidsville.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime

I don't know what that's supposed to mean.
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."

What I'm saying is "more abstract" would mean crazy bizarre & downright insane. These creepypastas are a little bit nonsensical, but not to the absolute EXTREME like these are, which requires more effort in actually writing them then just having the characters shed out blood every second & one of the characters suddenly telling the person who has that stupid tape that it knows where the person lives, which is what most of those creepypastas are.
