A long time ago, probably between 2005 and 2009, I saw some kind of live-action feature on television that was science fiction, or possibly science fiction and horror, but I think that it was intended for kids. I remember the actors as having accents which suggested that the feature was filmed in either Australia or New Zealand. I have absolutely no idea whether this feature was a short film or part of a television series, but I doubt that it was a feature-length movie.
I don't know how the feature started, but the first scene that I can remember of it showed a teenage or young adult guy showing what he called "pot aliens" to one or two other guys who I think were teenagers who were younger than him, while they were inside a house. I think that the "pot aliens" were some kind of complex puppet that I can only describe as looking like large and grossly deformed uncooked chickens, and I think that there were two of them. As their name suggests, these "aliens" had the vague shape of ceramic pots. The "aliens" may have had a large orifice in the centre of their bodies that was their mouth, and I think that they made gurgling noises; they were basically featureless otherwise. The older guy may also have told the younger guy(s) not to touch the "pot aliens".
I have no recollection of what happened between that scene and when the feature was nearly over, but the story probably continued to revolve around the "pot aliens".
Near the ending, there was a parody of Men in Black, in which a teenage guy who was wearing black used a parody of the Neuralyzer. The first time this guy used the Neuralyzer, the Neuralyzer was actually a plastic yellow smiley face on the top of a stick. For some reason, the same guy with the Neuralyzer used it again shortly afterwards, but that time the Neuralyzer looked different and was instead a stick with some kind of red bubble gum-like blob on top of it. The guy who the Neuralyzer was used against both times was probably a younger teenage guy from the first scene that I described. After the second time that the Neuralyzer was used on him, this guy was shown as waking up on a couch, and he said, "I just had the strangest dream", to a man and lady who were standing over him, who were presumably his parents. The man and lady then looked knowingly at each other, and the credits started rolling.
It almost certainly wasn't an episode of Round the Twist (which I only ever watched on DVDs as a kid), and I think that it was too long to be a segment on Freaky.
I would really love to know exactly what this was; please let me know if this sounds familiar to you.
