Hey all, I found a 1997 SEGA Demo Disk at a swapmeet today, and am looking for any information on its origin. I 'm having a very difficult time finding any information relating to its existence, except one press release from 1997. However, the demo disk I found does not list Sonic CD and instead has a very different line-up of games. Pics below:
If I can give you any suggestion, I'd go look to SegaRetro or SonicRetro for information, maybe even ask their forums. They seem to be very knowledgeable about this sort of thing.
First, you didn't link the press release properly so here it is for reference. Judging by the press release, this is a demo disc packaged with the said Trident graphic chipsets, and they dropped Sonic CD from the lineup at some point or made different discs for different graphics cards/countries (or simply didn't list Sonic CD on the disc itself). Running the disc in a Win 95/98 Virtual Machine would probably provide more answers if you're so inclined. Other than that I second asking some retro or Sega collectors about it.

No matter what it is, it's a pretty cool find.
Alright, thank you for information. I'll have to try running the disk soon on a proper PC
