When I went on vacation to Mexico in 2012, there was a cartoon channel we watched in our hotel while we were there and there was one short film that I remember being very funny. It was about a fat man, appearing very round, with a bushy mustache and a flat cap which obstructed his eyes, who walked through his house and doing some tasks which would result in some slapstick events. He would pull levers and turn cranks and certain things would happen on the platforms he was standing on, like doors opening, platforms moving up and down, and bridges forming. I remember one funny scene where his cat got stuck by its claws and screeched while hanging on to a platform. I think it’s actually a European short film, though the channel did air mostly classic American cartoons. I can’t say for sure what country the short originated from. I have a very vague memory of it, but it stood out to me after all these years. I remember the cartoon having no dialogue and just sound effects from the man, the cat, and the sounds of the actions made by the levers and cranks. If anyone knows what the name of the cartoon is, I would really like to know.
