Kmart CD-i Training Discs

I am truly devastated to learn that it permanently closed down in October. Robert Rothermel notified me yesterday that he has been let go by Transformco, and as a result, it is unlikely that he will be able to assist me any further.

I have begun to realize that the chances of the Kmart CD-i training discs ever seeing the light of day are becoming increasingly slim. There is only one Kmart store left in the continental United States and it is practically the size of a dollar store. It crushes me to say this… but I find it hard to believe that copies of the Kmart CD-i training discs are still there.

There are a handful of operating Kmart stores in the United States territories and some Transformco distribution centers that are still in operation. That is about it though. Maybe there is a small chance that copies of the Kmart CD-i training discs are sitting somewhere in the back of a Sears store. I honestly do not know at this point and I am quite desperate.

At my age, I do not have the patience to dig through eBay (or other auction websites) every day. I have a demanding life outside of the internet and I cannot let my strong sense of nostalgia take over.

With that being said, I am still committed to finding the Kmart CD-i training discs someday (and you folks are more than welcome to help me search for them). Assuming that they are not lost forever, I hope that I am alive by the time that somebody finds them.

It has been a few years… and we have made little to no progress. I am frustrated. Very frustrated…
