Let us know if you find anything. If they do have the discs they might just give them to you considering they’re obsolete now, unless they want copies for whatever archives they still have.

Nice trip, but how far did you get in your lost media search?
Apologies for my prolonged absence! Unfortunately, I passed a kidney stone while I was driving home and had to deal with that for a couple of days. You folks are lucky to not be as old as me!
During my time in the Kmart store, I tried talking to some longtime employees to see if they remembered anything about the CD-i discs. Two employees were nice enough to go into the back of the store and check for any sign of the CD-i discs. After I’d been waiting ten minutes or so, they came back and told me that they might have the CD-i discs in their possession, but refused to give them to me without permission from the corporate side of the company. After asking for my phone number and shipping address, they said they would try to gain approval, but I don’t exactly have my hopes up.
Transformco (the parent company of Kmart) isn’t really known for being open towards stuff like this. After all, they’re auctioning off assets in mass, and as a result, the CD-i discs could be in jeopardy.
My next best bet is to try to talk directly with various employees at Transformco. As you might be able to imagine, they’ve downsized like crazy over the past few years. I’m pretty sure there are only forty employees still working there. Part of me isn’t even sure how I’d get in contact with them. Maybe through LinkedIn or something like that?
I’ll probably touch base with Robert Rothermel first before doing anything else. He might be able to give me some more advice with how I should proceed with the search effort.
In the meantime, I’d like to thank you all for everything you’ve done so far, and as always, I really do appreciate it. See you soon!
I am a former Kmart associate that shovels up old memories every so often.
Just a few weeks ago, somebody uploaded a YouTube video of the Kmart store I worked at: youtu.be/0ghZPGFDA3o
The YouTube video ended up completely flying under my radar… until now! I can’t believe it wasn’t online all these years and was just suddenly uploaded out of the blue. Up until this point, there was only one other YouTube video of it online (and it’s already been shared here), but the quality of the video was awful.
Regardless, the new YouTube video was recorded in November 2011, and by that point, I hadn’t been working there for nearly a decade. It’s short and only shows the front facade, but it’s still cool to see though!
I’m beginning to wonder if the uploader might have more knowledge. Maybe they were a former employee like me? I’ll have to try contacting them. Wish me luck!

Is anybody able to create a page on the wiki for this search? At my age, I don’t think I could do it. It’s an extremely time-consuming process that’s way too intimidating…
Also, I’m currently in the process of calling Transformco’s various phone numbers in the hopes of getting into contact with somebody who might be familiar with the CD-i discs, but so far, I’ve had no luck.

My 50th birthday is on the 13th of November, and on that date, I would love to finally have the CD-i discs in my hands by then. Unfortunately, it looks like that isn’t going to happen, but regardless, I’m still persisting.
My current plan is to call Transformco’s new headquarters once they’re finally done relocating. At the moment, I’m digging through Transformco’s website for any phone numbers attached to their new address.
If anybody else wants to help out, Transformco’s website can be found here: transformco.com/
