Not sure if books are considered lost media, but this has been bugging me for years. I'm looking for the title of a book my grade 7 teacher assigned us in 1984/85.
It was a young fiction book about a young deaf boy who suffered horrific abuse at the hands of his [foster?] parents. The boy runs away and comes to live with a homeless man. The man gives the boy a very unusual name. It's more of a grunt or a sound than a name.
If this sounds familiar to any of you please help me out. On less sane days I try to remember but nothing comes to mind. Thanks in advance.
