Why I don't think the Kurt Cobain Ren & Stimpy song is real.

To begin with, the only evidence we have that the song exists is the fact that Stimpy's VA, Billy West, mentioned it in an interview. To add to his he was never able to supplement the claim with any proof. There is also a more logistical issue with the rumor: The Ren And Stimpy Show began airing in August of 1991, and Nirvana's Nevermind came out a month later in September 1991. As the rumor goes the people at Spumco didn't know anything about Nirvana/Cobain, and so threw out the song, but after the release of Nevermind Nirvana was on top of the world and you'd be hard pressed to meet an American who hadn't heard of them.

So in order for the rumor to be true as stated,  Cobain would of had to have seen The Ren And Stimpy Show some time between when the show debuted and when Nevermind came out (or shortly after the album released) which only leaves about 5 weeks in which this could have happened. So you mean to tell me that Cobain not only managed to see a random cartoon that wasn't even popular yet and then figured out how to get in contact with the people who made said show. In a month. Before the internet. 

Not to mention John K. (curse his name) didn't even recall any of this happening. (although to be fair the idea could have been shot down before it got to him.)

This story just seems too fanciful. Not impossible, mind you, just unlikely. It just doesn't seem that plausible to me.
