So for few years now I’ve been trying to find a movie called Silent Death from 1983,many years ago I remember seeing a vhs tape of it at a place called movie gallery in Texas when I was old enough to watch it I tried to look it up only to find that it is lost with rumors of a few vhs tapes in New Jersey, I remember very well that I seen a vhs tape in the movie rental store in Texas I even remember feeling a bit creeped out by the cover.

From that article:
“I’m not going to say whether or not a copy exists.” But he says it with a smile.
So its safe to assume a print exists and is hopefully in the hands or soon will be in the hands of a genre film company like Vinegar Syndrome, Massacre Video, or AGFA.

Interesting.
Yeah something tells me this film is going to get a surprise release ala New York Ninja and "The Farmer" very soon.

I’m just been wondering how I seen a copy of it in a small video shop in Texas,
You're 100% positive you did? And who knows, supposedly some copies were distributed throughout New Jersey, perhaps a business there went under and a wholesaler bought them out and in turn redistributed the tapes at a discount to other companies across the country and one of these tapes just so happened to end up in Texas.

absolutely positive it was sometime 2007,but this one movie gallery did have a lot of movies that no other movie rental stores seem to had, sadly the store closed and they sold all the tapes.

I know there are some ultra-rare films that only got released on tape in regional areas, Black Devil from Hell and Tales from the Quadead zone for example were only ever released in the Chicagoland area and Hackers(1988) only got released in the midwest.

from what I read the vhs tapes were only released in very small amounts in New Jersey, but hey media been found in strange places.
Around 2018 or 2019, Vinegar Syndrome offhandedly mentioned that they were going to release Silent Death, though no date was given. No mention of it since then. I would have though it perfect for their Homegrown Horrors series, but it has yet to show up after two volumes.

Similar thing happened with The Farmer, Code Red announced a DVD release back in 2009 or so and there was a trailer for it but they never put it out and Scorpion Releasing ended up doing it over a decade later.
