ok, lets take a break from lost Filipino commercials. This time, I'll talk two lost Filipino PSAs that made me interested with. These aren't really iconic, but these PSAs were remembered by some people, especially in the Facebook group The Spooky Advertisements Group.
First of all, the "SHABU" PSA. Shabu basically means drugs in english, so it is a drug PSA. Eyewitnesses described it as disturbing due to its content. The PSA starts off with a black background with black and white star-like spots and a Styrofoam-like human-shaped figure and it slowly dissolves from a liquid dropping from above, supposedly an acid. After it dissolved, the word SHABU was shown above it. There is said to be no voiceover and only eerie background music. According to eyewitnesses, the said PSA was aired on IBC 13 during anime and tokusatsu shows around 6pm. The PSA claims to be aired from the early 1990s to the late 1990s, with one eyewitness claiming the PSA aired in 1986 or 1987. This was also mentioned on a Reddit post on r/lostmedia where people in the comments also remember it. In the Facebook group The Spooky Advertisements Group, several people also remembers this PSA. However, this PSA hasn't yet resurfaced

People described that a lot of scary commercials came from the channel IBC-13, there is even one Reddit user describing a said jumpscare airing in the channel during a commercial break. Maybe the number 13? Coincidence? I think not.
Okay, second of all, the so-called "Doomsday" or "Fake Doomsday", or "Hoax Doomsday" PSA. This is the one that interests me alot. The ad starts with the word "RAPTURE" with a date on the bottom of the screen with the picture of Jesus Christ resurrecting in the background. What follows then is a slideshow of disturbing pictures during the time of the Holocaust. Eyewitnesses described the people in the pictures are bald, pale, and skinny with some of them dragged by their necks. One also claimed seeing the number "666" and what follows is old photos of people with the number 666 on their forehead in the middle part of the PSA. The PSA has ominous background music and a voiceover, with "This Is A Paid Advertisement" shown on the bottom part of the ad throughout it.
Reading this when I first saw it, I can imagine it to be so scary, especially to kids watching that time. It is still unknown what organization that made it or what's even the real purpose of this PSA. The commercial exclusively aired on IBC-13 during Top 10 Movie Trailers of the Week in early 1990s, presumably 1991-1992 along with PCSO "Sino Sila" commercial which I'll cover soon. I speculated that the purpose of this is to warn people for the upcoming doomsday, but I don't even know why this PSA aired in a network in the first place. I spoke to an eyewitness who saw it in The Spooky Advertisements Group which she gave me more details about this infamous PSA and she speculated that he purpose of this is to tell viewers to repent their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their savior and scare or warn people about the consequences. Still, this PSA hasn't yet resurfaced, and literally this whole PSA is a mystery.
