I remember a promo from Toon Disney around 2001-ish, where they were listing off Disney characters. I’m paraphrasing here, but it went something like “There’s Mickey, and Goofy, and Pluto, and Scrooge”. The interesting thing of note was that instead of Scrooge they showed Donald from the short “Crazy Over Daisy” when he was drawn with ruffled head feathers. It is similar (but different) than the ad at 7:10 in the video below.
I’ll try but I don’t remember a ton. Basically they were naming off characters and showing a short clip of the character. When they said Scrooge, they showed Donald, specifically this scene of him:
I want to say it was a promo for Quack Attack, but searching for that turns up nothing relevant. It’s also kind of telling that the Disney wiki article for Crazy Over Daisy (the short that this version of Donald) says that many early Toon Disney promos mistook him for Scrooge.
