Hello. I just joined as I have been interested in lost media for a long time and have a few bits of lost media I am trying to remember and need help with.
In the late 90s to early 00s sometime I played a 2D farming game on my PC. I remember getting it on one of those PC compilation CDs of sharware and demo games that were around in then. The game was a 2D simple farming game. May have ran on DOS but maybe not. I can't remember.
I can't find anything about this game as trying to search for it doesn't give me what I am looking for as I don't know enough exact details to find it other than coming up with Sim Farm which I don't think is it as after seeing footage and images of Sim Farm, that doesn't appear to be what I played. I don't know how old the game was.
Basically it was a 2D farming game that looked a bit like Sim Farm but it wasn't that and might have played in a window. There was a midi tune that played and looped while you played the game. It had a harmonica in it as the main instrument and was like a folk/country style tune that sounded a litte upbeat and it wasn't very long. I made a recreation of the main harmonica melody that I remember. There may have also been a banjo or acoustic guitar in the midi that I didn't add in my recreation. My recreation of the music that I remember: drive.google.com/file/d/1J_JmlrtL5rfv_0BGSRZ6cTv7tVGF4PcC/view the music may not have went 100% like that but I am sure it is very close to the actual music.
I remember the game only had a field that may have been layed out on a grid where you planted and harvested crops in squares. I remember there was weather effects in the game like sun and rain and I think tornados could damage the crops but don't quote me on that but when weather effects did happen, text would appear that said what the weather was. I think two of the crops may have been Maize and or sunflowers.
I remember in the game somewhere there was a photo/image of (I think) an African American southern USA family that may have been farmers and that could have been on an about screen, not sure where but I do remember an image of a family somewhere in the game. The image may not have been high quality and may have been black and white but I do not remember. My most vivid memory is that music though.
Can anyone help?
