This isn't about Song in the Sky, just to clarify. This was something I saw a long time ago as a kid. The thread title calls it a special due to me not being able to make a longer title, but I actually don't know if it was a special, a movie, a pilot or what. I think it was one off because I never saw anything else from it. I think it was aired on Nickelodeon but I can't be sure. It was I believe cel shaded cg that I think I remember being in an anime style or anime imitation style. It was in a setting of a broken apart world where different parts floated in the air. I think there was air travel for sure. It might've had a female protagonist or maybe both a male and a female protagonist. Maybe they were related but I can't remember. I think there was a loss of a parent or someone never seeing their parent again. Maybe the father? I'm sorry about the poor details. It was a long time ago. I don't think it was Titan AE but I am not sure. I think the characters were also cg but I don't know for sure. I think maybe they were brunette but my memories might not be reliable.

When was this? I think that the original Toonami had a sci-fi anime-style cartoon not long before the block ended, but I don't know what that cartoon's name was.
Could it have been Oban Star-Racers?

I don't know exactly when it was. Maybe early or mid 2000s since I was young. I don't think it was Oban Star Racers because it didn't look like that and also I have more clear memories of Oban.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't that. It was fully cel shaded cgi if I remember right and I think. And more serious imo but I'm not sure. It had maybe a more realistic look but it was a long time ago. I don't think it was as colorful Constant Payne. And I think the visuals of the broken apart planet were really prominent. Did Constant Payne actually end up airing on tv? It would be messed up if I'm remembering something so obscure it aired once and nobody remembers it and it turns out it's just gone. I guess that would be interesting to remember something like that, but I hope someone will know what it is and it isn't really lost. I don't think I've ever heard someone talk about it before.

You're correct! Weirdly enough I checked back here because I was going to say I found out what it was, because by weird chance I saw it randomly mentioned unexpectedly in a video I was watching, even though I hadn't thought about it for years, and then I see that you mentioned it here even though nobody else seems to know about it, since I haven't heard it mentioned for years, so it's so weird how stuff like that happens. I randomly see it mentioned in a video, and then you are here knowing what it was even though hardly anyone else seems to talk about it. I know this is a weird comparison, but it's like when two people who haven't met invent the same thing. One of those insane coincidences. Thank you for knowing what it is and recognizing my description even though it was not specific enough because I just remembered it vaguely from being a kid. You probably are one of the only people who remembers this, so thank you for your comment! It's good it's not entirely forgotten to time.
even though nobody else seems to know about it, since I haven't heard it mentioned for years
to be fair, your description was not that good..... and Skyland was only aired for a short period of time. it was never a big hit that got repeated over and over.....
i actually have all TV recordings from this still, and would have known your show as well, but as said already... this show just wasn't well known enough, to be on someone's mind.... especially not for a "missing" show.....

Oh wow Skyland! I haven't thought about that show in years but I used to watch it all the time, with the people flying around on those like jet motorcycles and the planet had shattered up into like floating islands or something...they completely stole elements of that to put in the game Destiny 2, with the idea of the planet Firmament being this giant gas giant made out of air with smaller planets breaking up and becoming islands in it, and the Dreaming City being essentially the same, and everyone has jet bikes. I think they even use the same names, Sparrows. It's really fascinating!

Hey there was this other show, but it was more action like and the good guys all wore blue and the bad guys wore red, and one of the heroes was this big gorilla looking dude. It was more like Avatar, the movie, then Skyland.
