I went to revise the Cyborg Kuro-chan English Dub article, since it has some layout issues... but I found something weird.
The article states that Animax Asia started airing the dub in 2004. Which would add up, since the channel launched in January of 2004. However, the article states that 14 of the English dubbed episodes were released as VCDs... but that doesn't make sense. I found an archived listing for the VCDs all the way back from April of 2003, months before Animax started broadcasting. And this comment by a user named Sparxster states that they were able to buy English VCDs for the series in January of 2003.
Did someone get the dub before the TV broadcast? I'm not sure... for starters, Animax almost NEVER releases their dubs on home video. When I first heard about these VCDs, I had assumed they were illegal TV Rips. But the dates don't match up. Not only that, but the distributor of the VCDs, Speedy Video, is known for making their own anime dubs.
Basically: Are there TWO English Cyborg Kuro-chan dubs? Why are the dates not matching up? I'm really confused...
