Hello everyone.
I am creating an update post to this lost PSA I made a post earlier this year.
Years ago, when I was in primary school at a young age, so around 2009-11 (estimate) we saw a PSA created by the company SPLAAT.
The PSA wouldn't have been longer than about 10-15 minutes or so and revolved around a group of children playing on a construction site, the main child being a brown haired girl named Charlotte - in the video, the kids jump all over the site, and start running around on the safety frames and whatnot.
The camera would often shift to a first person perspective during these parts, and I remember a scene where it was first person, somewhat high up (around 2nd floor out of 3) with one of the kids, maybe Charlotte herself, running on a large wooden board held up by metal scaffolding only for the board to give way and collapse, and as they fell in the first person perspective, green slimy animated text would splat onto the screen reading (I believe?) "S.P.L.A.A.T: Safe Play At All Times" going down the screen like an acronym. A child's voice (I don't think that this was one of the children acting in the film) would then read out the acronym, I believe a girl's voice.
Another scene I distinctly remember is the ending to the film - it's in a classroom, and the camera begins behind children working at their desks, but the camera pans over to the teacher who is doing the registration. They call out Charlotte's name, but she's not in the classroom, and the camera zooms into the registration paper with the children's names on it and the teacher crosses out Charlotte's name with either a thick pencil line or a red pen. The video would then either pan or fade over to a graveyard, with her parents putting flowers down at a grave, that the camera would zoom into reading the name "Charlotte" on it.
Other than those two scenes, my memory of it is a bit foggy. I believe Charlotte was hanging around two boys but I could be wrong, and the children were of primary school age so around about 8 years old. I have looked around for this PSA for a while and since my last post, a few people have actually made some reddit posts about the topic which was relieving to hear. I shall link to them down below. I also have to say that while I initially thought that the short was called "Game Over", as this is the only PSA I could find that had a name relating to SPLAAT, I think I'm actually wrong about that - there's a script for the film included in a booklet that's fortunately available as a pdf online, but the script does not match up to my memory at all and focuses on video games and Game Boys which I 100% do not remember happening in the video I saw. www.rospa.com/rospaweb/docs/advice-services/school-college-safety/splaat-ks2.pdf
For a time frame of when the video was created, while I would have seen this in the late 2000's or early 2010's the video was of a VHS style quality and used a lot of old style effects, so I would say around late 80's to mid 90's at the latest. A VHS listing for a SPLAAT PSA says this film may be from 1988. www.worldcat.org/title/splaat-videocassette-safe-play-at-all-times/oclc/606199221
For all the details I am certain on:
The company involved was absolutely called SPLAAT, as I remember the company's mascot coming over to our school and showing us this video.
I am certain the girl's name is Charlotte, as this lines up with not only my memory but the memories of others who have seen this PSA as a child online.
Green text absolutely splattered onto the screen at one point, not 100% that it was the SPLAAT acronym though (around 80% certain).
I shall link to the other posts I have found regarding this PSA:

If anyone knows anything about this PSA, remembers seeing it, knows any people to contact/ask about it, or hell, even has a copy of it, please reply to this post. I am very keen to see this again and I want to reignite interest in this topic seen as some more people have come forth to ask about it. Thanks for any help you may provide, and lets hope some progress can be made with this
