The movie will be available to watch for free on Google Play from January 12th to February 16th, and will also receive a limited theatrical release on February 3rd.
Honestly it doesn't look like it'll be too good. But still, it's and improvement for the uncanniness the original posters showed us. Impressed it's finally getting released tho
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."
Goddamn does it look cliché. How many times can you have an "evil businessman tries to buy a land and it's bad because nature and magic" story?
Not feeling like watching the film yet... we can only dream if John Goodman could channel a bit of Walter Sobchak for the Bunyan character.
*Bunyan pulls out his shiny axe*
"Norm, my friend... you're entering a world of pain!!"
*Bunyan angrily walks with his axe towards Norm*
"Do you see what happens, Norm? Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in my forest?! This is what happens! You see what happens, Norm?! This is what happens when you feed Babe scrambled eggs!"
Jeez, Mark Hamill? He keeps getting reeled into these low-budgeted CGI films. Well, it would have blended in well with the 2008-2010 trend of CGI movies that had the same villains and message. But in 2017 it looks outdated and out of place, even the animation looks rather cheap and choppy. That said, it's nice to see a film finally climb out of development hell in a somewhat polished form.
