Sporting events often play short little animations purely for entertainment purposes on their scoreboards (or jumbotrons), often specifically made for the local teams. For example, pay attention to the scoreboard in this video of a 1992 Chicago Bulls game, featuring Benny the Bull. I also recall seeing a specific one at the AllState Arena when I saw the Harlem Globetrotters that was more generic: there was a flower in a field, and the grass it was on started bulging outward and inward again until finally the ground ripped open and something (I forget what) burst out from under it. Then there's that SpongeBob baseball lecture that has an entire thread dedicated to it.
Bowling alleys also have little animations for when you score. There are several compilations of these available:
Since many teams/companies seem to have had exclusive animations, and the animations are retired and replaced over time, there's probably a whole lot of these animations that could be considered "lost."
