Me and my sister grew up watching the Kingdom Chums: Original Top 10 video, and it's become a family favorite. The show is about three children learning the 10 commandments from anthropomorphic singing animals, voiced by Frankie Valli, Debbie Boone, and the like. We recently got the DVD of it from Godwinks, as we don't own the original VHS tape anymore, and I was hoping that it would have split-track so I could separate the music from the vocals. Unfortunately, it did not. Out of curiosity, I did some research and learned that there were two Kingdom Chums cassette tapes made, but they are unavailable online, even on Archive.org. There are no listings on eBay or other websites of that sort for the cassettes either (except for a sketchy one which I'm sure wants to scam people out of their money and don't actually have the tape). My goal is to have these tapes found and scanned into a digital format, as I would love to hear the songs from this special without the obtrusive sound effects.
The first cassette tape was a generic tape featuring the songs from the program-- sort of a portable way to enjoy the soundtrack-- and was apparently distributed free along with the VHS tape back in 1990. The songs were in reverse order than the program (as the VHS treats them more like a countdown), with commandment #1 coming first rather than last.
Amazon link (out of stock)
The second cassette tape is a game show-like program in which contestants have to guess which 10 commandment is being sung about. In this audio tape, the songs are out of order, and there is spoken dialogue.
SQuire Rushnell, the creator of the program, has a website (Godwinks), so I might try contacting him personally about the tapes, but I would appreciate any and all help I can get with this. Thanks so much!
