Hi everyone, I have been searching high and low for this ad/PSA I can remember from my childhood. This ad has become something of a mystery to my family and friends as we all saw it, we know it exists but we cannot find a single scrap of its' existence, it's like a ghost.
I tried looking on YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, I even shot Justin Whang an e-mail talking about it!
I made an account here to help spread awareness of its' existence and hopefully get more eyes on it. (I tried on reddit but I'm shadowbanned from r/lostmedia for some reason).
Timeframe
When we saw it, it was around March to April 2000. We were living in Goulburn, NSW Australia at the time. I cannot remember the channel but it might have been Channel Nine or Channel Seven - it was shown late around the eight to ten time slot.
Description
Its pitch black and all you can hear is a baby wailing, we are seeing through their point of view.
You then hear a muffled voice of a man, telling the child to shut up. A door opens and we see a furious man standing in the doorway shouting at the crying infant to be quiet, the crying continues. Suddenly, the man in a fit of rage grabs the still crying child until you see his dark grainy visage - he's screaming and the infant is screaming in fear, the POV camera is shaking violently and cuts to black. Dead quiet.
A stern male voice then says 'No matter how angry you get... Never, ever shake your baby.' The ad was sponsored by the Australian government.
As I have stated, I have searched for a long time and chatted with my friends about it - I am a fan of scary ads, PSAs and PIFs, so are they - and they remember it as well. This isn't some Mandela Effect or dumb creepypasta. It does exists.
I would be grateful if I could get some help, even just some chatter about it.
EDIT: I added some other details, it aired later at night around 8 to 10 at night and it was definitely commercial television.
