So there's this cartoon I remember seeing over a decade ago called Lina-Lena.
I remember it airing on a Croatian kids' show called Žutokljunac, which in turn aired on the second channel of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT2). The episode of the show in which Lina-Lena was aired was a special where they would show old cartoons from Yugoslavia, which may very well count as lost media too, but I don't remember any of the other ones, let alone their names.
I was 10 or younger at the time, so I unfortunately don't recall anything about the plot. All I can remember about it is that Lina looked somewhat similar to Little Audrey from The Harveytoons, the only difference being that Lina has twin braids.
From what I've gathered, it was made some time between 1969 and 1972 by a Croatian animator and puppet artist Aleksandar Marks (His Wikipedia article). Lina was voiced by Đurđica Ivezić and "had every virtue of a woman", as told by Helga Vlahović, a popular TV personality at the time.
I also found a few photos of a children's book of the same name, written by Milivoj Matošec (Link here). The only image that shows the plot features Lina getting eaten my a mailbox and being dumped into a mailbag. Given that I don't remember what the cartoon was about, the story might be the same, but then it doesn't ring any bells.
I've searched for this thing for a while, and I'd be really happy if it was found. Thanks a lot in advance.
I’m not sure if this could help but it’s worth keeping up with the YouTube channels tvtremor and vhs oaza, whom both are focused in archiving recordings from HRT, Nova, RTL etc usually from the 70s-2000s time period. It might not hurt to go through these
Yes, I’m from the country of that one show that couldn’t make it through a whole airing 😎
