So after a few months of tongue-in-cheek searching for what may just be the worst godforsaken thing ever, I've decided to bring my self-indulgent, satirical search to the pros.
If you're familiar with the bad art scene, or any artwork satire, you may know of James Murray, or how he was known before deleting his deviantART, james-dark-blue-wolf. Many a day has been spent by me and my equally mature friends laughing at his poorly drawn and often offensive works of "art". This came to a halt after we learned he had written, and commercially published, a novel.
After me and several friends learned of this, we spent several lazy nights reading the awful amazon reviews, and after imagining just how bad it could be, we decided to look for it. And unfortunately we got absolutely nowhere. No sites that carry the listing seem to have any copies, and the people we've asked online who apparently once owned a paperback copy either resold it or quite literally burned it.
Unfortunately, this seems to be a dead end. Murray deleted his deviantART sometime early this year, and without doing a lot of digging, I can't find any other method of contact.
Have any of you seen a copy? It's unlikely, since it seems like a pretty niche thing (kinky furries...). But even for a good laugh with some of the lads, I'd like to find it and let it loose on the internet once more.
I go under the username, AxlReigns on DA and write stories featuring Anthropomorphic animals. James was drawn to my works, not long after I first became active on the site and he even considered me a "friend," before all the drama with his book.
Because he was one of the few people who followed me and took an interest in my work, in the early days of me writing on the site, I was willing to write him off as being a 'decent person' who just had some very unusual fantasies. He loved my stories and was constantly bugging me to do a collab/crossover project with him which I knew from the get go would never work. My stories are aimed at children as well as young adults. They do not contain the mature content which permeated his stories and art. Still, I got away from having to confront him on this by just telling him "I was too busy."
Prior to the release of his book, he had sent me a copy of one of his writings. This was where it became obvious to me of his severe grammatical/writing issues. When he informed me that one of his was being published, I assumed he must have found someone to edit his works. Since he considered me a friend in those days, I went ahead and ordered his book to write a review for him as he requested. Needless to say, I was stunned to find the same sloppy writing in the final product that he posted online. I knew then I couldn't write the positive review he was wanting so instead of just posting a review, I thought it would be more proper for me to just send him my critique and concerns through private messaging. Before I had a chance, he already had begun receiving heated feedback.
When he messaged me about everything going on, I was at first sympathetic towards the guy. By this time, I had begun to suspect he had some sort of disability. It was then I told Jame's I was sorry for the harsh reaction, he was receiving, but found a lot of the criticisms to be warranted. Jame's went off on a tantrum after that, cursing at me and accused me of "betraying the friendship," despite my intentions being to help him. After his onslaught of nasty insults, I banned James, and posted my long review on Amazon anyways.
If you were still interested in the book, I supposed I could scan the pages for you sometime. Just let me know.
