TL;DR I can't remember the name of the band/artist behind indie-rock song called "Bollywood"
Around 2014, I used the iheartradio app often to listen to music, and it was how I discovered a lot of new songs and artists. I distinctly remember listening to this indie-rock type of song. The name of the song is called "Bollywood", but I can't remember the name of the artist! I can't even find any trace of this song online anymore. There used to be an auto-generated YT channel with the song, but that appears to be gone now. When I search "Bollywood" on Spotify or Youtube, it just returns a bunch of Bollywood songs. I believe this was an American artist, and the song has no connection to Bollywood aside from the name. Here is everything that I know:
- I listened to this song around 2014-2015 -ish, so the song could not have been made any later than the mid 2010's. It sounded modern, so I believe the song had to have been made between 2000-2015. I'm leaning towards late 00's-early 2010's
- I DISTINCTLY remember the album cover. It was a collage of random objects, and in the center was this statue of a woman, like Mother Mary or something, wearing sunglasses and playing a red keyboard. I think she also had lasers shooting out of her eyes.
- There was(?) a Wikipedia page for the artist. I know this because I remember reading it years ago. I've tried searching for it recently by doing a deep-dive throughout Wikipedia, but it just doesn't seem to exist anymore. There are a few tidbits that I remember from the page. It's a band, and they formed in L.A. in the 2000's(?) I think either the singer or one of the members was already famous when they formed the band; they were a celebrity's child or relative, I think(?). They were big in Japan. The band landed in hot water over a cultural appropriation controversy; I think it was over appropriating Native American culture by wearing headdresses and stuff(?).
- I can't even remember if the singer was male or female, but I'm leaning towards male. I think there was a female member though (the celeb's child/relative(?)).
- As for the song itself, it's around 3 min. long and incorporates guitar and maybe some electronic elements. Not hard-rock/metal guitar playing, though; more like indie-rock. Can't remember the lyrics, but I remember the guitar going "duh-duh,duh-duh,duh-duh," in either the beginning or the end of the song.
I know that I could look through my liked song list on iheartradio, but I've long since lost access to my account and therefore, the song information. This is basically everything that I know about the song and artist. If anyone knows anything at all, please respond! Thanks for reading!
