I recently watched a video on the atrocious Shrek wannabe movie Happily N'Ever After (2007) and I had long believed it to be a Disney attempt to copy the Shrek formula (I know my 2007 movies-I worked at a movie theater that year LOL). Surprise! Disney didn't make it or even distribute it-it was a Lionsgate product. I think I figured out this effect-the company that actually made the movie (Vanguard Animation) DID do a Disney deal in another forgotten animated movie- Valiant-which released in 2005 and also flopped hard. So I just assumed that Happily was a Disney product as well.

I have a clear memory of Fantasia coming on the Disney channel around 1995 or 1996. In my mind, I recall seeing ads for it for a few days. The day it actually played I was at my cousin’s house and he was complaining on how the movie was boring because it was just an old guy talking. It was only later I learned Fantasia was one of the few Disney movies that never aired on the Disney channel. I guess they played the individual segments to fill time, but never from start to finish. I don’t know what I’m thinking of then.

Huh I never thought of that but Famtasia never does come on Disney Channel.
I was so convinced that one of the cult classic JRPG Suikoden games (PS1) had a spiky, blonde, tall MC front and center on a cover (with a green background) to the point that I associated the whole series with this image. Scanning all the actual cover art online, only ONE of the covers seems to have ONE sole character with VAGUELY blonde (more brown TBH) hair and it's definitely not a MC, and it's definitely NOT front and center! And yeah, no green background either.
I now think I mixed the cover up with that of a different JRPG series, possibly a Tales of ______ or Mana game? Or maybe I blended several JRPG covers together in my head? But, really, where did I get this random blonde MC cover from???
I thought that Cyberchase was airing in 2001, but it actually started in 2002. I think I'm just mixing up my childhood memories, since we were in the process of moving houses then. I likely did see some commercials of it in our old house and mixed them in with memories of seeing the show in our new house.

Yeah Cyberchase is a strange show for me too. I know I saw a couple episodes early on. It was nothing I watched on the regular but I saw it in passing. I mostly remember my brother and I cracking jokes about Digit being Iago’s brother. The kicker is I would have been 12-13 in 2002. In my mind I was more like nine or ten when this happened. I’m not sure what I was doing watching PBS Kids when I was in middle school for.

I also remember watching it in 2001. I remember learning math from one of the episodes and using it on a pop quiz in 4th grade and getting a good grade. In 2002, I was in 5th grade.
Maybe it is possible they did an early test run...I dunno.

Would be cool to find out if there was a test run anywhere! The time I "remember" it airing would have been sometime between September and December 2001 for context.

TBF, for us animation buffs/devotees, kids cartoon blocks on Saturday mornings and afternoons were slowly on their way out by the time 2001-02 came along for we "no cable kids." We only had Kids WB on Saturday mornings, no local Foxbox, ABC's One Saturday morning was losing its animated identity, CBS only aired like preschool shows and some obscure Nick stuff. And I don't even remember if my area even had those. NBC did pick up some Discovery Channel kids stuff, but only a handful of cartoons. SO I mostly watched PBS with my younger brother since that station aired cartoons for like 12 hours straight on afternoons. Many wonderful memories TBH

My guy believes that there was a "Magic Tree House" show that aired on PBS. Like he INSISTS it was real. I remember no such show and I watched plenty of PBS. The only thing I can find on a "Magic Tree House" show online was that curious Japan-only anime OVA. Anyone know what shows he might be confusing here?
do you think he's talking about the books? if thats the case maybe he got the show "the magic school bus" mixed up with it. i remember seeing a musical about the books so maybe there is some video media for the books.

I wonder if it was Time Warp Trio, it has a very similar premise to Magic Tree House.

hopefully they'll respond soon.
I will ask him, but last I chatted with him about it, he is somehow still 100% convinced he saw an animated adaptation on PBS at some point. He does know Magic School bus, we were talking about computer games of it just the other day
Based on my research, there's a 99% chance that no such "Magic Tree House" show exists, however, it would be a great thing to figure out what the heck he is even thinking of. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great. I can show him Time Warp trio, tho I'm pretty sure that's not what he's thinking of. Like me, he is in his 30s, for context.
