Ok. I feel like this is going to be hard because oh my god no one in my family can remember anything about it. Basically, around 2007 we lived in Northern New Jersey and only one of our TVs got a channel that was purely in Japanese. It must've have been broadcasted directly from Japan because all the commercials were in Japanese and the kids shows played at night and the adult shows played in the morning. There were also no subtitles.
One day we just didn't get the channel anymore and I was super sad. I only remembered later in life that this was even a thing. My mom watched it with me so she remembers a little bit but she also has memory problems.
Basically, it was like a variety show. It was hosted by a guy and a girl and all the audience was kids. They would dance and bring kids from the audience to dance too. They also asked questions like a quiz-type thing and did skits. The stage was rounded and very pastel but still colorful. The children sat on the floor or at least in very low chairs as you could see the back of their heads from the one camera angle.
One thing my mom is certain of is that there was absolutely NO mascot type characters. Only real live people and actors.
I have some details that I'm not sure if they're true or not: The stage was decorated with fake cutouts of bushes and flowers and stuff. The girl wore bright colors and had dyed dark brown hair.
I was very young at the time because my mom still had to do my hair for me after I showered. We would sit together and watch it but I think the funniest part is that we both weren't fluent in Japanese at all. I think my mom might recognize it if she saw a picture or video of it. Maybe I will too? My memory is fuzzy.
Anyway, thank you so much if anyone ever looks into this.
