I was looking to see if there were any Maldivian movies out there that I could find on the internet rather easily, & I found this:

I kind of want to wonder how rare this 2000 movie is. It's an unofficial remake of Indian movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, likely changed to satisfy Maldivian audiences. For some reason, the movie just seemlessly ends with no actual conclusion, no credits, no fade-out, just nothing. It's as if we're still missing a few scenes. I have no idea where to even look for more of this since I don't know the language, & I highly doubt anyone's ever willing to find it, though there might be some kind of community that's preserving these movies. I mean, if people in Cambodia are preserving most of their movies, then maybe the Maldivians are too.
I have to wonder if they ever got sued by Yash Raj Films for this.
