.dcr is the extension used by Shockwave games. I was able to get this game working pretty easily on Windows 8:

Cheetah Chase

1) Download and install the Pale Moon browser: www.palemoon.org/

2) Download and install Shockwave (use MSI installer for Windows): www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/shwv_distribution3.html

3) Open Pale Moon and drag-and-drop the .dcr file onto the browser

Those browsers no longer support Shockwave. Pale Moon is basically an old version of Firefox that still supports Shockwave games.

Also this game is available on Flashpoint:

bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/

If you install that and search "Cheetah Chase" you can play it in there.
