Hello, all.
I am writing this with the hope that you can help me solve a mystery. I am trying to track down a brilliantly atmospheric Goodwill Halloween commercial from the 2000s. Locating this elusive piece of media would mean a lot to my wife and me.
I am reaching out here because I've had no success tracking this down via other means. I've contacted Goodwill, both locally and nationally, and I've reached out to the local TV stations this would've aired on without success. I've also been watching tons of commercial blocks on YouTube without any luck. So I've decided it is time to reach out here, to the people who know these pursuits better than me. Any help you are able to provide would be humbly appreciated.
Here are the details I remember. Please bear in mind that it has likely been 10-15 years since we have seen this, so though I feel confident in my recollections, I concede that my memory may not be perfect. With that, here's what I recall:
- The commercial was for Goodwill. Not sure if it was local or national.
- We saw the commercial in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area.
- The commercial aired between 2002-2010. I believe it ran just for a few years, but I don't recall which few years within that range.
- The commercial was stop-motion animation, I believe.
- It featured little straw witches and mummies (I think?) marching, possibly in a house.
- At one point, I believe their shadows fell upon the wall, looking huge and spooky.
- I also remember that at one point, a little straw witch without a face was raising and lowering her arms as if conjuring up something. She may have had a broom or something in her hand.
- Finally, I remember that the music was appropriately dramatic and spooky and had an orchestral vibe to it, like strings and such.
And these are the details I recall. My wife and I have fond memories of this commercial from a time period of great change in our life and have spoken of it often since last seeing it over a decade ago. It would mean the world to us to see it again after all these years.
If you can help in any way, I'd be immensely grateful.
Warmest regards,
DarrenL
