Just curious if this is just me or not lol. It's probably because I am a writer but I have had dreams that were 'tv shows' me and my family were watching. Often with a nostalgia angle to it. My mind came up with these shows completely and sometimes they were fairly detailed and always interesting. I write them down if I can remember them when I wake up because they are usually so vivid I felt like I watched a tv show nobody else has ever seen lol. Has anybody else ever had dreams like this is or is it just my weird mind literally coming up with ideas in my sleep lol

My dreams are literal movies. Like, they have defined beginnings and ends even if I'm awakened, or I remember them as having defined beginnings and endings. I'd have to be basically hit-awakened to not. They have casts, usually people from Hollywood and more than once I've seen Anthony Anderson as, basically, my self-insert. Oftentimes my mother is played by Angela Basset and my girlfriend is Ellen Wong and my dreams tend to have heavy sci-fi elements. Like Wandering Earth but set in Detroit, to such a degree that as an aspiring sci-fi author I started keeping dream diaries in case I can use the ideas later. And when I say movies, I mean with defined opening and end credits, but the credits are all gibberish and some are just scrolling quotes, and some have post credit sequences. Sometimes they're part of a "larger series" or "shared universe" where characters return and show up again and cross over, etc. One example is what I can only describe as a "trilogy" of dreams about a civilization on a nomadic fleet of asteroids...starring Danny Glover as my father and Danny Trejo as my uncle, for some reason.

I know I’ve dreamed up movies before. A while ago I had a dream that there was a Don Bluth movie from the ‘80’s that I’ve never seen or even heard of before.
I once dreamt of an anime-esque Wacky Races crossover special/film that aired on Boomerang that features Doraemon, Nobita, and Lupin III. One scene had Doraemon and Nobita blown away by an unknown wind/force and Lupin III had to save them with a flying machine.
I also dreamt of another crossover film that took place in a war between The Doraemons and the villians (I think) (this time airing on Cartoon Network), and the Team Rocket Trio were going to the moon to escape the war.
Both of them were not TV shows, but they did air on TV. If those kind of dreams don't count, then I apologize.

Cool to see I'm not the only one lol. One dream I had was like a classic black and white cartoon with the whole lines across the screen too. It had a girl with cartoonishly long legs and stockings kind of like Pippi Longstocking rowing a boat with a weird sea creature blob-like thing over her shoulder as her sidekick. Despite the fact they were on the ocean there were literally windows all over the place where she would look in and meet new people. It was quite the trip lol

I've had a lot of dreams regarding shows and movies.
There was one in which Sylvester McCoy was playing a boss and Sophie Aldred was playing his employee. It was a drama of sorts, I remember a scene in which they were in his office discussing business-y things.
There was another one, a heist movie, with a bald serious guy who looked like Jason Statham, a girl who loved bombs who liked like an anthro version of Chica from FNAF, Sophie Aldred again and a buff version of that dude from Dreamworks Sinbad (the ones that is very acrobatic) and he loved machine guns.
Just vibin' here. Thanks to everyone who edited the Requiem for a Heavyweight article in terms of grammar. We made it to featured!
I’ve had plenty, I’ll list what I can remember. I’ll edit when I remember more
1. A dream about an anime similar to Digimon Fusion, staring the main protagonist, a boy wearing red and black like most kids boys anime, and his friends, who were 2 girls. Despite having 2 girls and a boy the girls had many shining parts and were good at battling with their monsters that they’d summon out of their device. There was no useless love triangle or anything. It starts in the 3 of them in another realm with a white and dark blue porcelain door leading to the worlds they’ll travel in. I remember a martial arts world, a garden/nature world, and some others.
2. A show in a dream I had featuring Kirara from Pop’n Music and Gumi but with afro puffs battling each other with “magic nunchucks” in a futuristic city. Just when Kirara’s about to lose she summons her friends, a giant pink starfish and this character from a game I used to play in the app store. When they all defeat the girl, they find her futuristic pink and white motorcycle has a hand scan. Since she’s unconscious they put her hand on the scanning thing and find a shot hidden in the wheel’s storage with some sort of pink liquid. They have worried looks on their face as they hold and look at the shot and the dream ends there.
3. This one was an interactive story about a mouse who travels to the other side of the world with a catapult. It starts with the small mouse styled like old manga in the beach and then launches itself to the other side of the world with the catapult. It meets a small poodle in France. On one scene they sit together on a human sized table with tiny matching chairs talking about something.

I had a particularly hilarious dream in 2016 wherein Lin-Manuel Miranda made a musical about the nazis. Like, actual nazis, casted similarly to Hamilton. They were all hanging out in the south pacific, having fled there after World War 2 ended, and were just living it up, singing and dancing and playing in the sun. I particularly remember a scene where the protagonist nazi, backed up by two of his friends, is performing a rap to attempt to woo some Aryan babe lying in a hammock, all about "repopulating the master race" and shit. Fucking bizarre.
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."
