Back when I was in sixth grade (2009-2010), my teacher would sometimes put on a video of a certain series. It was a comedic and live action educational show (whether it aired on TV or was limited to video, I don't know) that taught science concepts to kids, and its gimmick was that the two hosts would always be wearing space suits. They would never take them off and we never got to see their faces, not even through the visor. It's similar to Bill Nye the Science Guy in that it was an science educational show aimed at kids hosted by someone goofy, but the similarities end there.
There's at least two other people on r/tipofmytongue who've described very similar things, so I know it wasn't a dream:
I'm also looking for this! I googled "educational video series with astronauts" and came across this thread. They would play this a lot in my middle school science classes circa 2007 and I think I recall the copyright date being 2000. It was part of a greater video series that all began with the production logo being typed on the screen like a typewriter. Another series from that company was one with very crudely animated aliens (I think it was a mother a child). I'll try to see if I can find anything about this.
It's called Space Science in Action (the one with the aliens is called Earth Science in Action). It was produced by JWM Productions and Schlessinger Media. Sadly, it doesn't look like anyone has uploaded it online, but after the seeing the names Stanley and Malcolm, I now clearly remember that those were the names of the two astronaut characters.
