Hey, does anyone remember a little site called "fangamez.net"? I remember it hosting a bunch of really crappy and amateurish fangames, particularly Mega Man-themed ones. One of the games I distinctly remember was called "Mega Man Unlimited" (no, not the one that was released not too long ago.) I remember this involving X collecting fruit and one of the bosses was supposedly Armored Armadillo, but was actually the spider boss from Sigma's fortress. Yes, really. As you may have guessed, it wasn't very good (which is exactly why I want to find it again).
The site's been dead for years, and even though the main site exists on archive.org (albeit very broken), the downloads are 100% borked, which is a shame because there were quite a few games uploaded to it that don't seem to exist elsewhere on the internet (e.g. the one I mentioned earlier).
It'd be great to relive those memories of browsing through there and seeing the weird stuff that was uploaded to it. If anyone can dig up ANYTHING from this site, I would most appreciate it.
I'd like to also take the chance to talk about GameFudge.
GameFudge was a flash website which was updated until 2010-11 and the website has not been updated ever since, however the website went down earlier this year and when you load into the website, it will say it is having maintenance.
I had so many memories of this website, it was where I had found games like Hedgehog Launcher, Mario DS Flash, the Ray series, Ragdoll Avalanche, and many more.
Well technically, Web Archive archives most websites online and the fact it can archive Flash videos, games etc. is very surprising, meaning that if you visit GameFudge with Web Archive, it still is open, and you can even play the games on it, which I find surprising...
So maybe, GameFudge isn't lost media now? Seems like it.
