I'm interested in whether anyone here might know the identity of an old Pokémon Let's Play that I watched most likely between 2010 and 2013. It was of a Hoenn game; most likely Ruby or Sapphire.
The player was a guy with an American accent. While he was playing the game, he was talking to two other guys, and either one or both of them were playing the same game or a similar game to him at the same time, but the videos only showed one game. I remember that one of the two other guys was talking about how he was using a cheat so that he had a Flygon at the beginning of the game, and he sounded like a kid when he talked, but there was at least one comment which said that he was actually sixteen.
As for the gameplay in the videos, the Let's Player seemed to be playing through the game as quickly as possible. He only used three pokémon for battles; Blaziken, Pelipper, and Cacturne, and did not use any cheats (though he might have used save states, but I can't remember that far). Because he was playing the game as quickly as possible, he became increasingly "underleveled" and reliant on potions to win battles as the game progressed. I don't think that he actually finished this Let's Play; the last video that I saw of this Let's Play ended right as he was exiting Victory Road, which would have been after the battle with Wally, and I don't think that there were any more videos after that.

I found a LP of Pokemon Ruby from 2011 that appears to match what you've said! Pelipper, Blaziken, Cacturne used in battles, multiple people talking, American accent. Guy that sounds young. It does have speed-up, but otherwise it appears to match? MunchingOrange's "Speed Run" series: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F62lQi35_OE Is this your Let's Play, OP?

I'm sorry for neglecting to mention that the game was sped up; it didn't cross my mind at the time of writing the OP. Yes, this is definitely it. I remember that this series was where I first learned that Pelipper can learn Shock Wave, but I didn't mention that in the OP because I honestly didn't expect anyone to find this speedrun. I also half-remembered the "You can do whatever you want" line from the end of the last video, but I probably would have got the line totally wrong if I had tried to write it in the OP. I had a feeling that this speedrun was actually comprised of three or four long videos instead of eight short ones, but I must have got it confused with a different speedrun. Thank you for finding it!

No problem! I didn't know Pelipper could learn Shock Wave either. Gen 3 is great!
