(SOLVED)
I don't know why, but recently I've thinking about an old cartoon I watched sometime back in elementary. I looked around for it but I don't know the name, and it's probably something lesser known. I specifically created an account to see if anyone could help me locate this, as I believe this is one of the best places to find people who can help. I have a somewhat vivid memory of how the cartoon goes, so hopefully I can possibly jog someone else's memory if they have ever watched it too.
I used to go to a Catholic elementary school until I switched to a public one in 4th grade. It was sometime in Grade 1-3 that our teacher put on a small cartoon for the class to watch. The cartoon was in 2D, and it featured still characters that could talk, but had no mouth movements. From what I remember the cartoons could move across the screen, but would remain as still pictures until the scene would change to a new scenery. I believe the cartoon starts off in a forest, featuring groups of trees that were sentient, being able to talk to one another and express emotion. Each and every tree had at least one deformity that made it odd or unusual looking, such as being really short or really skinny. However out of all the trees in the forest, there was one that was completely perfect. Because it was perfect, it did nothing but brag and gloat about how beautiful it was, teasing the other trees for not looking as good as it did. I will note that the trees liked to pray together, but I don't remember what they were actually praying to. Because the one tree was perfect it never participated in praying with the others, only going on and on about it's perfection all throughout the days and nights.
However one day a group of humans came to the forest who I believe were probably Romans. They were looking for a tree to cut down, going around the forest to look for one that was good enough to be turned into a cross to be used for crucifixion. They inspected the trees, but kept noticing each tree had one or more inconsistencies. They then found the perfect and decided that it is the most suitable one. The tree was begging to not be chopped, but the people most likely were unaware of the trees talking, like how some movies featuring talking animals that humans can't hear. Despite being chopped off, the tree could still talk and everything though. Once it falls over the group of humans bring it back to their town.
(This is where my memory gets fuzzier about the story.)
The tree is shaved down into a cross, no longer possessing the features it so loved. Sometime the cross is given to Jesus, and he is forced to drag it through the streets as a crowd is shouting at him. The tree (which is now a cross) I believe starts to reminisce about being back in the forest and questions why the person who is carrying him is being tortured so much, unaware of who that person really was. Eventually the cross is boarded up along with 2 other crosses that were never a part of the story, and Jesus gets nailed to it. As Jesus dies on it, the cross (which used to be tree) goes on about what it did wrong and how it should've been praying with all the others trees instead of gloating about it's beauty. From that point my memory is blank, possibly because that's where the cartoon most likely ends.
Here's some other things to note:
I wish I could say what timeframe it was made in, but I don't really know. All I know is that it was definitely made before 2010, but probably no earlier than the 90's.
The cartoon was in English, probably made somewhere in the U.S. or Canada.
There is a story called "The Three Trees", but this cartoon was not about that in any way.
I have no pictures or anything to go off of, this is purely off of my memory and recollection.
If anyone has any questions about this, I can most likely answer them. I don't expect anyone to know what I'm talking about, but making an attempt at finding it is better then nothing.
