I like making these off topic threads, it's nice to have a break from the media hunting once and a while to share life experience with my fellow hunters and observers.
So I ask; in these trying times, What is your happiest memory?
I'll start.
I started dating my partner in april 2018 and during that time we became incredibly close incredibly fast the only issue is I live in the united kingdom and she lives in the united states.
We would video chat as often as we could and spend hours together playing world of warcraft or just talking about nothing for hours, Sometimes I tease her saying she is the reason my sleep schedule is so bad because she is someone I just can't stop talking to.
Fast forward to october of 2018 she gets home from her job and we start video chatting she looks really anxious and upset about something so I ask her if she's ok and she says "Yeah I just don't know how to ask this" and I pushed her to explain and she just comes out and says "There is a furry convention happening the next state over, if I was to get you a pass and us a hotel room would you want to come to the states and see me?"
I immeditly said yes and a few weeks later I was on a 8 and a half hour flight for a weekend in conneticuit.
I get off the plane and get through customs in boston (closest airport) and this is where my happiest memory kicks in:
She texts me telling me she couldn't get a space and is awkwardly parked on the street outside of the airport so I walk out and see her just standing there looking around while rappidly typing on her phone, she didn't see me and my heart was racing so I decided to jog up to her and call her name I will never forget her reaction, she literally jumped back and shouted "Oh my god" and just immedietly hugged me, the tightest hug I have ever been given.
So that's the story of my happiest memory.
Should also add me and my partner are still going strong and I fly to the states to see her atleast twice a year now.
