Around the timeframe of 2005 to 2010 (One could give or take a few years. I could attempt to elaborate if need be, but I would've been 4 to 9 years old at the time, and most of my memories of my childhood are fuzzy to varying degrees), I watched a lot of PBS Kids. One particular series of schedule bumpers I remember seeing has stuck out in my memory for years, but I've been struggling to find any recordings or stills of these bumpers, or even other people saying they've seen them. I'd be satisfied by just seeing another person say they've seen them at this point, but I'd ultimately like to see recordings of them to put the memory to rest.
This series of bumpers contain a person in a green bear costume (I recall its fur pattern being reminiscent of TV static) and a red couch sitting out in what I recall to be the middle of a field, which I think was drawn in contrast to the real costume, and perhaps the couch. This would be next to the standard schedule text, showing what times upcoming shows would be aired. The bear would be doing various things depending on the time the bumper is shown, such as waking up from sleeping on the couch near the beginning of the broadcast schedule and going to sleep on the couch near the end of the broadcast schedule. There may also be a bumper where the bear is eating lunch on a picnic blanket, but my mind may have created this memory on its own, which wouldn't be unprecedented.
These bumpers had their own distinctive music compared to the rest of the bumpers, which was simplistic and not as dramatically upbeat as the music in other bumpers. It unsettled me a bit back then, but I was a very sensitive kid…
As I've come to learn, the kind of bumpers shown, especially schedule bumpers, depend on the station, so to specify: the station I watched PBS Kids on would've either been WUNG-TV, owned by UNC-TV, or WTVI. If needed, I'll try to check which one it would've been on my own, as I'm not comfortable with being too specific on where I live.
I'm not sure if I have more information to give on these bumpers. All I can think to add right now is that the bumpers in general, not just the music in them, unsettled me, and even made me have a nightmare or two, which is why they've stuck with me all these years. As I said, though, I was very sensitive back then, so I don't believe my past perception is valuable in getting a sense of the nature of these bumpers.
Despite my poor recollection beyond what I've already described, I'm willing to attempt to elaborate or share more if needed. Thank you so much in advance to anyone willing to help me out!
